Individual Counseling

This is an opportunity to see Aaron one-on-one and get tailored counseling to your specific issues. He doesn't judge and moves quickly to get you to your best self. His style involves giving you tools to cope and heal yourself so, you don't need to see a counselor.
Regardless of your culture, religion, or spirituality, Aaron adapts counseling so it makes sense to you.
Couples Counseling

Every relationship has its' mountains and valleys. Sometimes we get stuck in a valley and we can't figure out how to climb out. Whether it is with or without your partner, all couples counseling is about healing your part in the relationship.
Without modern technology or instruments, Polynesians were great navigators of the open Pacific Ocean. Living on a boat for months means learning to get along and embracing differences. This requires a different mindset that is focused on making things work because there is no other choice. You cannot walk away from your problems. You must turn and face them before they overcome you. "We lead with love" as we face these challenges (Dr. Manulani Aluli Meyer).
Aaron doesn't pick sides but rather explores the space in-between the couple. Why has this space soured and how can we get it to heal. In couples counseling we learn how to:

-
Communicate clearly
-
Listen clearly
-
And bring back the love and aloha that may have been lost.
Family Counseling

There can be a lot of personalities and extensive history in a 'ohana (family). There can be numerous challenges like abuse of power, births, deaths, addiction, poverty, divorce, and the list unfortunately goes on. Things like trauma and abuse can be passed down not only epi-genetically (generational trauma) but it can be learned by the following generation. As a result, history repeats itself.
In family counseling, we look to disrupt the cycle. We don't point fingers and determine blame, this solves absolutely nothing. We simply look at the situation and figure out how to move forward forgiving past. We do this through forgiving each other, recommitting to each other, and enhancing what is already working.
Hard feelings soften because we love each other.
Group Therapy

Our group therapy programs are largely educational and thus empowering. We need at least 8 participants to form a group. In the groups we learn the same tools we might learn in Individual Counseling.
We do not go over your personal issues, making the programs ideal for those who don't want to share their issues. We may from time to time have specific groups where we are speaking about our issues or a specific topic like bullying, suicide, substance abuse, domestic violence, or jealousy but no one is required to share there personal issues.
If you have a particular topic you would like to discuss and you know of at least 7 other people that would be interested, call us and let us know. If it's appropriate, we can develop a program that fits the topic.

We can and do incorporate counseling with activities such as art, dreams, gardening, fishing/hunting, surfing etc. into group and individual counseling.
